SWEP introduces the B26 AsyMatrix® BPHE for heat pumps

On March 27, at the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort exhibition in Milan, SWEP introduces the B26 AsyMatrix® brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) for heat pumps.

The B26 is an asymmetric condenser for ground source and reversible air-to-water heat pumps with a wide capacity range between 5-40kW. The asymmetric plate geometry allows for the unit to deliver superior performance with a very low water pressure drop to optimize system efficiency.

The B26 is 30% shorter than symmetric heat exchangers in the same capacity range and offers a reduction in refrigerant hold-up volume with up to 50%. The AsyMatrix® plate pattern improves heat transfer while decreasing water pressure drop and refrigerant charge.

Adam Dahlqvist, Segment Manager for Residential Heating says:“The B26 is truly unique; no other BPHE in this capacity range is so compact and so high-performing. The B26 will have the same height as other key components, allowing for heat pump manufacturers to make more compact systems. Traditionally, the taller symmetric BPHEs have always been a limiting factor in these capacity ranges. The B26 is proof of SWEP’s motto that small is beautiful for big capacities”.
