Energy storage

Renewable energy sources are driving the demand for alternative base load production units that operate intermittently. These add capacity regulation difficulties to the natural diurnal variation of demand. Various forms of energy storage are more attractive alternatives to increasing load regulation and investment in power generation with more flexible part-load capacities.

We have extensive experience in dimensioning heat exchangers as critical components for multi-megawatt energy storage (thermal, compressed or liquefied air, and pumped heat) as well as for the various natural gas technologies needed for power-to-gas (P2G) plants. In a market where most suppliers of compact heat exchangers are challenged by the capacities and pressures required, we offer the superior product portfolio. With SWEP BPHEs, you need fewer units, resulting in a cheaper and simpler system layout.
